POLISH HORSE – HERB consists of dried and chopped upper parts of the green summer stems.
The herb Horsetail is obtained from the dried stems with longitudinal furrows and linear leaves, which are light green to green-gray, of the plant Equisetum arvense L. They are rough to the touch, brittle and creak when crushed. The main stems are hollow, joined at the nodes with clearly defined vertical furrows at the internodes. At the nodes are ring-shaped, widely spaced upright branches with longitudinal furrows. The leaves are small, linear and ring-shaped at each node, fused at their base, they form a toothed sheath around the stem. Each tooth, often brown in color, is lanceolate-triangular.
